Pseudocysts
Pseudocysts
Pseudocysts of the ear arise from the space between the perichondrium of the ear cartilage and the cartilage proper. It is a painless swelling which can occur suddenly causing the ear to look mis-shapen. Many times, it is mismanaged by using needle drainage to draw out the cystic fluid. However, the fluid will reaccumulate hence definitive treatment is with a small surgical procedure to clear the pseudocysts once and for all.
