On 25 Nov 2023 ( Sat ), Dr Liu Jiaying gave an Online talk to the OneHeart Nasopharyngeal Cancer Survivors Support Group on The Importance of Ear Health and The Link Between Hearing Loss and Dementia. During the talk, Dr Liu shared about the various External ear, Middle ear and Inner ear problems that can arise in NPC survivors, and how they can be addressed.
She also shared how Hearing Loss can lead to cognitive decline and dementia and how treating hearing loss reduces the risk of dementia.
Lastly, she shared the latest technological advances in the hearing rehabilitation technologies such as cochlear implants, bone conducting implants and eustachian tube ballooning.
