Dr Liu was invited by OCBC Premier Private Banking to give a wellness talk on ENT changes as we age. During the talk, Dr Liu shared about Snoring and Obstructive Sleep Apnoea(OSA). Most significantly what would happen to your body when OSA is untreated and an update on the current treatment options for OSA. She also shared about the link between hearing loss and dementia; and the latest evidence how hearing loss treatment can slow the onset of cognitive decline. It was an enjoyable evening with many questions and fruitful conversations.
Dr Liu was interviewed on CNA 938 Health Matters with Daniel Martin on 5 July 2023. She spoke on the prevalence of hearing loss, what can be done to improve hearing loss, how cochlear implants work and shared the story of her patient’s heartwarming journey to better hearing with bilateral cochlear implants.
Dementia Awareness Forum (Partnered in conjunction with Dementia SG) in Farrer Park Hospital on 14 Oct 2023. Dr Liu spoke at The Dementia Wellness Symposium in Farrer Park Hospital on 14 Oct 2023. This was organized in conjunction with Dementia SG. Dr Liu shared with the audience about the link between hearing loss and dementia, the risk of dementia with hearing loss severity, and the current evidence for treating hearing loss.
On 25 Nov 2023 ( Sat ), Dr Liu Jiaying gave an Online talk to the OneHeart Nasopharyngeal Cancer Survivors Support Group on The Importance of Ear Health and The Link Between Hearing Loss and Dementia. During the talk, Dr Liu shared about the various External ear, Middle ear and Inner ear problems that can arise in NPC survivors, and how they can be addressed.
