Dr Liu Jiaying is a fellowship trained consultant Ear Nose & Throat (ENT) surgeon and the Medical Director of Aurion ENT & Hearing Centre. Prior to establishing Aurion ENT, she was in public service for 16 years and was conferred multiple Service Excellence awards.
Dr Liu graduated from National University of Singapore in 2005 and completed specialist Otorhinolaryngology training in 2014. Her interest in ear surgery began when she won the Best Temporal Bone Dissection prize at the 2011 Asia Pacific- Singapore Otology Neurotology Skull Base congress. She went on to clinch the Singapore Ministry of Health’s scholarship for sub-specialty training in otology and lateral skull base surgery at St Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney, Australia in 2015. During fellowship, she was given ample hands-on surgical training in challenging otology and neurotology cases.
After returning from fellowship, Dr Liu founded the Hearing Implant Program at Ng Teng Fong General Hospital and was its lead implant surgeon. She also led her Hearing Implant Team to win the Team Service Excellence award in 2018. Dr Liu served as Director of the Jurong Health Hearing Implant Fund assisting patients in need of bone conducting implants and cochlear implants. She is a key opinion leader for hearing loss and hearing implants in Singapore and is often a speaker at local and international ENT conferences. She has spoken on local radio and has been invited to write articles on ENT topics for local newspapers as well.
Dr Liu holds a Graduate Certificate in Digital Health from Singapore Management University (2020). She is also a graduate of Harvard University T.H Chan School of Public Health’s Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare course (2021) as one of her interests is in helping patients receive more efficient care using digital technology. She has served as council member on the Chapter of Otorhinolaryngologists, Academy of Medicine from 2019-2021.
Dr Liu sees adults and children for general ENT disorders such as snoring, tonsilitis, nasal obstruction, sinus problems, thyroid and neck lumps. Her speciality interests are in ear infections, hearing loss, cochlear implants, cholesteatoma, otosclerosis, vertigo, and eustachian tube disorders.
